At least half of all meetings are a waste of time,
According to a survey of more than 4,000 full-time workers in the USA, UK, France and Germany, meetings with no tangible result are becoming alarmingly common.
Research conducted by MatchWare’s MeetingBooster revealed that 86% of American workers surveyed agreed that: “meetings with no results or outcomes have become normal for business.”
This normalisation of unproductive meetings however, is not only confined to the United States, with 77% of French and 73% of British and 41% of German workers agreeing that meetings with zero outcomes are commonplace.
These staggering statistics highlight the pervasiveness of inefficient and unproductive or ‘zero outcome’ meetings in company boardrooms across the world.
The impact of meetings which yield no result cannot be underestimated, not only do they waste time, money and other resources, they are also arguably damage morale.
According to MatchWare Sales Director Ulrik Merrild, “These figures are very concerning. But they perfectly illustrate the growing problem of zero outcome meetings, which continue to put workforces under strain.
